BHS Construction Administration

Construction Administration involves the coordination, manufacturing, and installation of a BHS or related airport equipment system explicitly. The Project Manager and Site Manager get assigned to CA contracts. They work together to ensure that all deliverables are met on time and within budget. Depending on the terms of the contract, Project and Site Managers may be required to provide some of the services typically performed by the BHS manufacturer or installer.

The following are the typical CA services we provide:

  • Review of BHS installation phasing plans and schedules
  • Validation of right-of-way (ROW) clearances
  • Ensure continuous airport/airline operations with minimum inconvenience
  • Coordinate site activities with airport management, airlines, and other local authorities
  • Monitor installation performance, including:
    • Timely acquisition of necessary permits and licenses
    • Timely acquisition of proper security clearances and site access badges
    • Timely receipt of materials, adequate staging, and storage
  • Adequacy of workforce
  • Proper site preparation and installation
  • Certify accuracy of installation portion(s) of payment applications
  • Quality control monitoring
  • Prepare deficiency lists and ensure their proper correction
  • Monitor performance of static and dynamic tests
  • Observe formal Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) and Monitor Operation and Maintenance Training
  • Certifying system’s readiness
