Elanco, the second-largest independent animal health company in the world, is building a new global headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana. Ross & Baruzzini is providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering and security consulting services. The new campus will include a 100,000-SF research & development lab facility, 130,000SF office tower, and 70,000SF welcome center that will house conference spaces, food service, fitness center, and other amenities for employees and guests to the campus. The project also includes planning for future phases of development on the campus.
Sustainability is a corporate priority for Elanco, and they have a strategic plan to achieve net-zero carbon emissions for all of their global facilities by 2030. Consequently, this new corporate headquarters campus will incorporate numerous sustainable design strategies including, but not limited to, high-performance building envelopes, extensive occupancy-based control of ventilation systems, lighting, plug loads, and HVAC system setpoints, LED lighting and daylight harvesting, ultra-high efficiency central plant systems, active chilled beams, exhaust air energy recovery, fan energy optimization, low-flow plumbing fixtures, rainwater collection & re-use, and renewable energy systems.
