The new 8,300sf visitor’s center evokes a sense of permanence with integration into the natural surroundings with a high lobby space that is the iconic “front door” to the facility. The building is a unique signature structure that serves as a strong destination point to draw new visitors and provide a dynamic experience at the Cordell Hull Lock & Dam. Design criteria included:  United Facilities Criteria, ASHRAE 90.1 Energy Performance, and LEED Silver.
