The Broad Museum
Los Angeles, California
The Broad Museum in downtown Los Angeles contains the over 2,000-piece collection of contemporary art, named for famed philanthropist Eli Broad. The project included the development of a security plan incorporating elements of physical and electronic security, intended to secure and protect the art collection. DVS, a division of Ross & Baruzzini, worked with the architect to incorporate these features into the gallery layouts, entry points, and access-ways. Electronic systems designed included access control, intrusion detection, emergency communications, and a flexible video surveillance program that allows cameras to change position as the collections and exhibits evolve over time.
