New York, New York
DVS, a division of Ross & Baruzzini, assisted in the transformation of the historic James A. Farley Post Office building in New York into an iconic railroad station and a new Manhattan home for Amtrak, serving over 500,000 passengers per day. Scope for the project included a threat and risk assessment for the facility, working in collaboration with the Governor’s office, NYPD, State Police, structural/blast engineers, and the design team. The assessment was followed by a full security design including access control, video surveillance, vehicle interdiction, and a security/incident command center, which will link Amtrak, MTA, Long Island Railroad, and the base building with additional building functions such as hotel and post office functions.
