LOUIS, April 3, 2013 — Ross & Baruzzini, Inc., a globally recognized engineering and architectural planning, design and consulting firm, today announced the acquisition of Macro, a consulting, engineering and project management firm located in Chalfont, PA. Macro offers a full spectrum of services for state-of-the-art command, control, communications, and information management systems – from planning and design, through procurement assistance into implementation oversight and quality assurance for transportation and public safety clients worldwide.
“The acquisition of Macro is a strategic move for Ross & Baruzzini as we continue to increase our presence and capabilities in the Transportation market and expand our reach geographically”, said Craig Toder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Ross & Baruzzini. “Ross & Baruzzini’s current portfolio in aviation, maritime, road and bridge, combined with Macro’s extensive experience with rail and bus, allows us to offer consulting and engineering services in all surface transportation modes. In addition, Macro’s specialization for providing control systems and electronics related consulting for command and control center operations fits seamlessly with Ross & Baruzzini’s critical operations practice. Ross & Baruzzini can now offer full A/E services to their clients who want a totally integrated consulting and full design solution for their command and control centers.” Also, Macro’s Public Safety/Communications services mesh well with Ross & Baruzzini’s wireless and wireline communications needs across all of its markets, especially Public Safety Awareness and Response Centers and related communications systems.
Ross & Baruzzini will immediately combine operations to leverage opportunities to expand services to its clients globally in mass transit, aviation, education, maritime, and government infrastructure. David Kipp, Senior Vice President of Ross & Baruzzini will manage the newly formed team within Macro. The expanded operations in Philadelphia complement Ross & Baruzzini’s existing offices in New York, Indianapolis, Miami, and St. Louis. In addition to Macro’s Pennsylvania headquarters, Macro also has regional offices in Massachusetts, Colorado and California.
