Mark Crosby Appointed Chair of ACC's Security Committee

Mark Crosby, principal consultant at Ross & Baruzzini, was recently appointed Chair of the Security Committee for the Airport Consultants Council (ACC). The ACC is the global trade association that represents private businesses involved in the development and operations of airports and related facilities.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to Chair the ACC’s Security Committee this year. It’s a great leadership opportunity to help fellow ACC members advance important security issues with the TSA and the airport trade associations,” said Crosby. “Security considerations are an integral part of airport terminal design and recapitalization. With TSA rolling out its new Capability Acceptance Process (CAP) for airports and airlines to donate screening equipment during terminal upgrades, our committee priority will be to facilitate communication between the TSA, airports, airlines and equipment manufacturers to help implement these new CAP guidelines and improve them with lessons learned.”

As for what advice he would give to young members of the aviation industry? “If you want to learn more about the industry, participate in the committees that interest you. Many of them are via telecom and it gives you an opportunity to listen and learn. When you do attend a conference, try and find mentors to learn from. We were all young professionals in the past and share a love for the aviation industry.”

Mark has more than 25 years’ experience in the aviation industry. Prior to joining Ross & Baruzzini, Crosby served as the Director of Public Safety and Security at Portland International Airport/Port of Portland. He has held leadership positions with AAAE, ACI-NA, ACC, ACI-World, IAAE and the Safe Skies Alliance, working directly with senior leadership at the TSA to help mold aviation security policy for over a decade. Mark is a leader in the Aviation Security, Public Safety and Emergency Management industry.

ACC is the only association that focuses exclusively on the business interests of firms with airport-related technical expertise. ACC informs its members of new trends while promoting fair competition and procurement practices that protect the industry’s bottom line. It is the responsibility of the Security Committee to stay abreast on aviation security issues that impact the members and stay engaged on these issues with the TSA and airport trade associations.
