To accommodate continued increase in the hospital's outpatient surgery volume and conform to state and national regulations, Ross & Baruzzini is designing a four-phase renovation of the hospital's Pre and Post-Operative care departments. The final 16,000-sf layout features a separate and enlarged 16-bed ACU and 26 PACU patient prep/recovery areas but combines all support spaces into a shared central nursing core. This plan minimizes duplicated spaces between the ACU and PACU while maximizing efficiency of staff. In addition to patient areas, Ross & Baruzzini is providing new physician and staff changing rooms which will accommodate over 250 surgical staff.
