Ross & Baruzzini provided complete mechanical, electrical, plumbing/fire protection design and construction administration for the new energy center serving the medical campus. Work included an initial study of the campus infrastructure. Design work included new boilers, chillers, cooling towers, primary and secondary pumping systems, domestic water booster pumps, domestic water heaters and softeners, medical vacuum, surgical air, compressed air, oxygen, and nitrous oxide equipment. The energy center is a stand-alone building located on site with all services to the campus buildings routed through an underground tunnel. All mechanical plant equipment was sized to accommodate full demand with any one piece of equipment failed.
